August 2007, Luzern, Switzerland

A Photo Report by Ian Wood

This year, my wife and I decided to make a road-trip out of the panoTools meeting - driving from Devon, SW England to Luzern, Switzerland in out converted Renault Trafic van. Here are the results...

Saturday 4th August

After far too much time packing, we got away just after lunch on Saturday, giving us three and a half days for the ~800 mile drive to Luzern. After running into holiday traffic quite quickly, we took several detours through the lanes, eventually stopping for the night in the entrance to an area of woodland, mid-way between Brighton and Tunbridge Wells.

Sunday 5th August

After the morning chorus of dog-walkers had calmed down we had a nice walk through the woodland, including some close-ups that I shot. With a  fisheye. That was a very stationary dragonfly!

Later on we stopped for lunch in a pub called the Oak and Ivy, serving superb burgers. And a free wireless network. :-)

While driving East towards the Channel Tunnel terminal in Folkestone, we spotted a sign for Bodiam Castle and made a detour:
