Ribblehead Viaduct

go to The Royal Crescent

Ribblehead Viaduct is on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, widely considered to be one of the most beautiful stretches of railway in the UK. It was constructed between 1869 and 1876, with around 6,000 men working on the line as a whole, over a hundred of whom died from accidents and smallpox outbreaks.
